Aviator Airport Alliance has secured a comprehensive ground handling and de-icing agreement with Vietnam Airlines at Copenhagen Airport, ahead of the carrier’s first-ever direct connection between Vietnam and Northern Europe.
Launching on 15 December 2025, the new long-haul service will link Copenhagen with Ho Chi Minh City three times a week, significantly enhancing air connectivity between the Nordic region and Southeast Asia. The route will be operated by Boeing 787 aircraft and marks Vietnam Airlines’ debut in the Nordic aviation market.
Under the agreement, Aviator will deliver a full suite of ground services for all Vietnam Airlines operations at Copenhagen Airport, including aircraft handling and winter de-icing support. The partnership reflects the operational demands of long-haul services, where efficient turnaround and reliability on the ground are critical.
The Copenhagen–Ho Chi Minh City service will have an approximate flight time of 11 hours and 40 minutes. Vietnam Airlines plans to operate the route with a two-class Boeing 787 configuration, offering both Business and Economy Class cabins.
Representatives from both companies emphasized the strategic importance of close operational coordination to ensure a smooth launch. Aviator highlighted the role of experienced ground handling in supporting new intercontinental routes, while Vietnam Airlines pointed to the partnership as a key factor in ensuring service quality and operational consistency from the outset.
The new route represents a notable expansion of Vietnam Airlines’ European network and positions Copenhagen as a new gateway between Northern Europe and Southeast Asia.
