Liege Airport (LGG) has announced the launch of a new scheduled cargo air service operated by Suparna Airlines, establishing a direct freight connection between Liege and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG).
The new route commenced on January 5, marking the first-ever direct air cargo service linking Liege Airport with Chongqing. The service represents a significant expansion of Liege’s cargo network and strengthens its position as Europe’s leading freighter hub.
Chongqing, one of China’s most important industrial, logistics and e-commerce centres, becomes a strategic new gateway connecting Western China with the European market. The route is expected to play a key role in supporting growing trade volumes between the two regions.
The scheduled flights will primarily support the transport of e-commerce shipments, high-tech products, automotive parts, and industrial cargo, offering shippers a fast, reliable and direct logistics solution between Western China and Europe.
Torsten, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Liege Airport, commented:
“We are proud to welcome Suparna Airlines to Liege Airport and to launch our first direct scheduled connection with Chongqing. Chongqing is an important addition to our cargo network and further confirms Liege’s role as the most trusted and efficient gateway between China and Europe.”
A representative from Chongqing Airport management added:
“The launch of this direct scheduled service to Liege marks an important milestone in the expansion of Chongqing’s international cargo network. This connection strengthens trade links with Europe and enhances Chongqing’s position as a key logistics hub in Western China.”
The addition of Suparna Airlines further reinforces Liege Airport’s growing role in China-Europe air cargo trade, as demand for cross-border e-commerce and high-value freight continues to accelerate.
