SHEIN Signs SAF Agreement with DHL Express

SHEIN has signed an agreement with DHL to adopt the GoGreen Plus service, supporting the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) within its air cargo logistics operations.

The collaboration forms part of SHEIN’s broader efforts to explore ways to reduce carbon emissions linked to air transport, while engaging with industry initiatives aimed at scaling SAF adoption.

GoGreen Plus Enables SAF Integration Through Book & Claim

DHL’s GoGreen Plus service allows corporate customers to support SAF usage by introducing it into the aviation fuel supply across its network.

The associated lifecycle emissions reductions—compared to conventional jet fuel—are allocated to participating customers using internationally recognised accounting methodologies.

These reductions are documented through certified frameworks, enabling companies like SHEIN to include SAF-related emissions savings in their environmental reporting.

Supporting Lower-Emission Air Cargo Logistics

Mustan Lalani, Head of Sustainability at SHEIN, said working with logistics partners such as DHL helps the company better understand how SAF solutions can be incorporated into air cargo operations.

He noted that initiatives like this are part of a wider effort to explore emerging approaches within the aviation sector to address emissions associated with air transport.

DHL Expands Sustainable Logistics Offering

John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express, said the agreement represents another step in the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable logistics.

He highlighted the importance of collaboration with customers such as SHEIN to integrate SAF into global logistics networks and support the transition toward lower-emission air cargo operations.

Growing Industry Focus on SAF Adoption

The partnership reflects a broader trend across the air cargo industry, with shippers and logistics providers increasingly turning to SAF as a key tool for reducing emissions in the near term.

While supply remains limited, initiatives such as GoGreen Plus are helping to accelerate adoption by enabling companies to participate in SAF programmes without requiring physical fuel allocation on specific flights.

Advancing Sustainability in Global Supply Chains

By adopting DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, SHEIN is taking a step toward integrating more sustainable practices into its global logistics network, as companies across industries look to balance growth with environmental responsibility.
