Saudia Cargo and TAM Group joint venture

Saudia Cargo has announced a strategic joint venture with long-standing partner TAM Group to launch Saudia Cargo Global, a new Hong Kong-based entity aimed at expanding the carrier’s presence across Greater China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Unveiled at a signing ceremony in Hong Kong, the venture marks a major milestone in Saudia Cargo’s international growth strategy. Operating under the slogan “Expanding Horizons in Global Air Cargo. Rooted in Heritage, Driven by Vision,the new entity will serve as a regional hub, offering integrated, adaptive cargo solutions tailored to one of the world’s most vital trade and logistics markets.

A Strategic Step in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

Eng. Loay Mashabi, CEO and Managing Director of Saudia Cargo, said the launch represents a “transformative step” in the company’s global development. “This partnership is a strategic evolution reflecting our long-term commitment to the region and our sustainable global growth. Saudia Cargo Global will unlock new opportunities, enhance customer agility, and significantly strengthen trade through five dedicated freighter hubs,” he said.

The initiative directly supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy, increase non-oil exports, and establish it as a global logistics centre.

Hong Kong to Lead Regional Cargo Growth

TAM Group, which has partnered with Saudia Cargo since 1986, brings extensive local market knowledge and operational expertise to the new venture. Dr Tam Wing Kun, Founder and Chairman of TAM Group, said the Greater China region remains one of the most dynamic cargo markets globally.

“Hong Kong’s strategic location allows us to serve the Greater China region and beyond, aligning perfectly with the Hong Kong SAR Government’s ambitions to strengthen ties with the Middle East,” he noted.

Tailored Services for High-Growth Sectors

Saudia Cargo Global will introduce enhanced freighter services and advanced e-commerce logistics solutions to meet the region’s booming online trade demands. The venture also includes specialised services for the pharmaceutical sector, adhering to stringent international transport standards.

A New Chapter for Global Connectivity

The joint venture will act as Saudia Cargo’s command centre for Greater China and APAC, further extending its global footprint and reinforcing its position as a national enabler of trade and innovation. The entity will operate from Hong Kong, a location seen as critical to the company’s ambition to connect East and West through Saudi Arabia.
