IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG), has announced the appointment of Josh Lane as Director of London Operations, underscoring the strategic significance of London Heathrow as its global headquarters and busiest hub.
Lane’s promotion reflects IAG Cargo’s ongoing commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and delivering a customer-focused service. With a proven track record in operational leadership across various industries, he previously served as Head of Warehouse at IAG Cargo, where he played a pivotal role in launching and managing New Premia — the company’s cutting-edge handling facility at Heathrow, opened in 2023.
Designed to meet the growing demand for high-priority cargo such as pharmaceuticals, New Premia has set new standards in speed, reliability, and capacity, establishing itself as a benchmark for premium service within IAG Cargo’s global network.
In his new role, Lane will lead the end-to-end cargo operations at London Heathrow. His focus will include streamlining processes, integrating advanced technologies — including artificial intelligence for data-driven decision-making — and enhancing service quality across all operational areas.
Adam Carson, Chief Operating Officer at IAG Cargo, commented:
“Josh’s leadership and input have already made a significant impact on our London operations. This new role enables us to build on that success, ensuring we have the right structure, systems, and team in place to boost performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction at our Heathrow hub.”
Speaking on his appointment, Josh Lane said:
“This is a pivotal time for the business, with a clear focus on customer delivery and operational excellence. Heathrow remains central to our global network, and I’m excited to work with the team to further enhance our service and performance. With continued investment in infrastructure and digital capabilities, we’re building a business our customers can rely on — every time.”
