Air France-KLM has announced the appointment of Adriaan Den Heijer, currently Executive Vice President of Air France-KLM Cargo, as the Group’s new Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective September 1, 2025.
Den Heijer will succeed Angus Clarke in the role while continuing to oversee the Group’s cargo operations until further notice, ensuring continuity across both strategic functions.
In his new capacity, Den Heijer will report directly to Benjamin Smith, CEO of the Air France-KLM Group.

Den Heijer brings three decades of experience within the Group, holding various senior roles across network planning, revenue management, and cargo operations. His leadership of the cargo division has been instrumental in driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence during a transformative period for global air logistics.
As Chief Commercial Officer, he will be responsible for steering network strategy, revenue optimization, product development, and customer experience initiatives across both Air France and KLM, further enhancing the Group’s competitive positioning in global aviation markets.
