Lufthansa Cargo and CEVA Logistics have officially transformed their previously announced Memorandum of Understanding on the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (Sustainable Aviation Fuel – SAF) into a binding long-term agreement, reinforcing their shared commitment to decarbonising air freight.

The agreement was formally signed on 21 November in Paris during CEVA Logistics’ Airfreight Annual Strategic Partners Council, marking a significant milestone in the sustainability collaboration between the two companies.

Under the terms of the agreement, CEVA Logistics has committed to the use of SAF credits in 2025, corresponding to a CO₂ reduction of approximately 8,000 tonnes. The newly established framework agreement will run until the end of 2028, providing a stable foundation for continued cooperation on lower-emission air cargo solutions.

The move to formalise the initial MoU into a long-term contract reflects the strength of a partnership built on transparency, continuous dialogue, and mutual learning, while setting a clear pathway for future sustainability initiatives.

Loic Gay, Global Air & Ocean Products Vice President at CEVA Logistics, said:
“This agreement represents a major step forward in our partnership with Lufthansa Cargo and allows us to measurably reduce our CO₂ emissions while making our customers’ supply chains more sustainable. It is especially important for us to work with a partner that demonstrates maximum transparency, clear sustainability standards, and reliable certifications.”

Beyond the immediate SAF volumes already secured, the framework agreement also establishes a structured platform for future SAF cooperation, enabling both companies to explore additional emission-reduction measures in the years ahead.

Through this long-term collaboration, Lufthansa Cargo and CEVA Logistics continue to play an active role in driving the energy transition of the air freight industry while supporting customers in reaching their climate targets.
