CharterDesk has completed its first two air cargo charter operations since launching at the end of June, delivering urgent freight solutions for customers in the automotive and perishables sectors.
The inaugural charter, carried out in late June, supported a major automotive manufacturer and an international logistics integrator facing a time-critical supply chain requirement.
Working with BBN Airlines Türkiye, CharterDesk arranged an Airbus A321 freighter to operate a direct service from Cairo International Airport (CAI) to Istanbul Airport (IST), transporting 11 tonnes of automotive components destined for a manufacturing facility in Türkiye.
The shipment was considered highly urgent, with any delay carrying the risk of temporarily halting production at the factory.
According to the company, all flight permits and ground handling arrangements were coordinated with the airline, allowing the aircraft to depart within 24 hours of the charter request being received.
A second operation followed in early July, when CharterDesk organised an MNG Airlines Airbus A330 freighter on behalf of a Turkish freight agent.
The aircraft carried 59 tonnes of temperature-sensitive perishable cargo from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Ouagadougou Airport (OUA) in Burkina Faso. Throughout the journey, the shipment required a controlled temperature between 15°C and 25°C to maintain product integrity.
The mission also presented an operational challenge, with a shortage of Jet A-1 aviation fuel at Ouagadougou Airport threatening the viability of the flight.
CharterDesk said it worked closely with its network of fuel suppliers to help secure a fuel uplift in Burkina Faso, enabling the aircraft to operate as scheduled.
Emir Ozdabak, Managing Director of CharterDesk, said cargo charter flights are frequently required when conventional logistics options cannot meet urgent operational demands.
“Cargo charters are usually booked during emergency situations, such as the risk of a factory shutdown or, as could become a more pressing issue these days, a fuel shortage situation,” he said.

The successful completion of the company’s first charter missions highlights the continued demand for dedicated air cargo capacity to support critical industrial supply chains and specialist shipments where speed, flexibility and operational expertise are essential.
