Liège Airport (LGG) has advanced its ambition to become a fully digitalised cargo hub with the launch of LGG Tracking, a real-time shipment monitoring platform designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and collaboration across the air cargo supply chain.
The platform, developed in partnership with technology provider NSI, was unveiled on 15 May 2025 as part of CARGOLAND’s long-term strategy to build a “digital twin” of airport operations.
Real-Time Cargo Visibility
LGG Tracking provides a single, centralised information source for all shipments passing through the Belgian gateway. The system allows authorised stakeholders to:
- View live status and location updates of shipments.
- Track all communication linked directly to Air Waybills, ensuring context-based, traceable exchanges.
- Enable automated customs clearance, minimising delays and reducing manual errors.
Built with Industry Collaboration
More than 100 stakeholders – including airlines, regulators, technology providers, and logistics partners – contributed to the development of the platform.
Frédéric Brun, Head of Commercial Cargo & Logistics at LGG, said:
“LGG Tracking is more than just innovation – it is proof of a well-functioning cargo community here at CARGOLAND, and the foundation on which we can build our digital twin.”
Torsten Wefers, VP Sales & Marketing at LGG, added that collaboration ensured the tool was designed around “the real-world needs of every stakeholder.”
Digital Cargo Hub of the Future
LGG Tracking is just one of over 30 digital projects currently in development at Liège Airport. Several initiatives are expected to reach maturity later this year, underscoring LGG’s role as a European leader in cargo digitalisation.
