Silk Way West Airlines has welcomed the arrival of its third Boeing 777 Freighter at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), marking another key milestone in its long-term fleet renewal and sustainability strategy.

The aircraft, which flew in directly from Boeing’s Seattle facilities, is part of Silk Way West Airlines’ order of 10 Boeing 777F aircraft to be delivered by 2030. The new additions will progressively replace older aircraft, boosting operational efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing fuel performance.

Driving Sustainability and Growth

Wolfgang Meier, President of Silk Way West Airlines, said:

“The arrival of our third Boeing 777F represents another important step in our long-term growth strategy. By expanding our fleet with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft, we are not only enhancing our global service offering but also reinforcing our commitment to environmental responsibility. This investment supports both our customers’ evolving needs and our vision for sustainable growth in the years ahead.”

Global Reach with a Modernized Fleet

Founded in 2012 in Baku, Silk Way West Airlines operates flights to over 40 destinations worldwide, carrying more than 500,000 tons of cargo annually. Its fleet currently includes the Boeing 777F, Boeing 747-8F, and Boeing 747-400F, giving it strong capacity across key trade lanes.

Looking ahead, the carrier is set to take delivery of two more Boeing 777F, two Boeing 777-8F, and two Airbus A350F aircraft by 2030, further advancing its modernization and sustainability roadmap.
