Web Manuals advances OEM document management with XML launch

Share

Web Manuals is unveiling its new XML Editor today, designed to streamline how airlines, cargo operators, and wet lease providers manage OEM documentation.

With the introduction of the XML Editor, Web Manuals users can now import and manage native XML documents directly within the platform.

The new capability enables operators to review, distribute, and control OEM manuals alongside existing web documents and PDF files in one centralised system.

Aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus deliver maintenance and technical manuals in XML format, a structured data language that follows strict schemas and manufacturer-specific standards.

Historically, these native XML files could not be managed directly within Web Manuals, leading operators to either maintain separate systems for OEM manuals or manually convert content into editable formats before uploading.

Richard Sandström, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Web Manuals, says: “Our new XML function will eliminate the need for multiple documentation tools and fragmented workflows.

“We are helping operators improve efficiency, maintain consistency, and simplify compliance management.

“Today’s unveiling marks the next step in Web Manuals’ mission to simplify document management for the aviation industry by bringing operational, safety and technical documentation together in one unified platform.”

Web Manuals currently serves more than 190 airline, cargo operators, and wet lease customers globally.
