Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company, has been awarded a new freighter handling contract by China Cargo Airlines as the carrier resumes all-cargo flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
The partnership began on 20 November with the arrival of China Cargo Airlines’ first Boeing 777F flight into Paris. Under the agreement, WFS will provide full cargo warehouse services, ramp handling, and road feeder services in support of the airline’s three weekly 777F operations connecting China and the French capital.
In addition to handling the freighters, WFS will manage China Cargo Airlines’ regional trucking network, operating road feeder services from Paris to major airports across France and on to key hubs throughout Europe.
The new contract strengthens a partnership spanning more than 25 years between WFS, China Cargo Airlines and its parent airline, China Eastern Airlines. WFS now provides cargo handling for the carriers not only in Paris, but also in Arlanda, Bangkok, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Marseille, and Milan.
Alongside the newly resumed freighter operations, WFS continues to handle all belly cargo carried on China Eastern’s passenger flights at Paris CDG.
Laurent Bernard, Managing Director France at WFS, said:
“We are extremely proud of our longstanding partnership in France with China Eastern Airlines and China Cargo Airlines. They are both extremely important customers of WFS, and we greatly value their continued confidence in us.”
