Global K9 (GK9), a US provider of air cargo security services, has partnered with Het Twickelerveld Cargo Screening B.V. in the Netherlands to strengthen screening capabilities across Europe.
The agreement will see Het Twickelerveld deliver screening services in the Netherlands, combining its established presence in the market with GK9’s detection expertise.
It comes less than a year after GK9 acquired UK-based canine screening firm Dog Detectives, as part of its push into the European market.
GK9’s founder and chief executive, Eric Hare, said the partnership aimed to replicate the company’s US model.
He said: “By combining our proven detection services with Het Twickelerveld’s local expertise, this agreement is aimed at replicating our successful US operations, providing enhanced security solutions across the region.”
Het Twickelerveld, founded in 2005, specialises in canine training and handling for cargo security.
Its founder and chief executive, Martin Lipsius, said the tie-up would bring benefits to clients by broadening services.
The collaboration will extend beyond canine screening to include X-ray, explosive trace detection (ETD) and authorised representative services, offering a wider range of compliant solutions to the European air cargo industry.
