Unilode Aviation Solutions and SATCO Expand Partnership with New LAX Facility
Unilode Aviation Solutions and SATCO have announced a major milestone in their strategic partnership with the opening of a new Maintenance and Repair (MRO) facility at Los Angeles International Airport and the signing of a long-term cargo net supply agreement.
The development strengthens both companies’ presence in the Americas and enhances support for Unilode’s global ULD (Unit Load Device) network.
New MRO Facility Strengthens Americas Network
The newly opened LAX facility represents a joint investment aimed at expanding maintenance and repair capabilities in a key global aviation hub.
From this location, Unilode will deliver on-site ULD maintenance and repair services to support SATCO’s growing installed equipment base, while ensuring high service standards for airline and cargo customers.
The facility will replicate the operational model used across Unilode’s global MRO network, providing consistent, high-quality services in line with industry requirements.
Long-Term Supply Agreement Enhances Resilience
As part of the expanded collaboration, Unilode has also confirmed it will begin sourcing ULD-related products, including cargo nets, from SATCO.
The agreement is designed to strengthen Unilode’s supply chain resilience while ensuring consistent product performance across its global operations.
Supporting Growth and Operational Efficiency
Janis Balkens, Chief Operations Officer at Unilode, said the new facility and supply agreement mark an important step in deepening the partnership, aligning with the company’s global operating model and long-term strategy.
SATCO’s SVP Operations Michael Howell highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships built on trust and quality, noting that the collaboration supports the delivery of safety-focused products, including fire-resistant ULDs and fire containment covers.
Expanding Capabilities for the Air Cargo Industry
The opening of the LAX MRO facility reinforces Unilode’s expanding footprint in the Americas while supporting increasing demand for efficient ULD management and maintenance services.
Together, the new facility and supply agreement position both companies to better support airlines and cargo operators with reliable, scalable, and safety-focused solutions across the global air cargo ecosystem.
