Malaysia’s ambition to establish Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) as a leading regional trade gateway took a step forward this week as Teleport, the logistics arm of Capital A Berhad, signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China Central Longhao Airlines (Air Central China).

The agreement, finalized on 18 September at the Zhengzhou–Kuala Lumpur Air Silk Road Forum for International Cooperation in Sepang, was witnessed by Malaysia’s Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Henan Provincial Governor Wang Kai, and senior Chinese officials.

The partnership enhances cargo connectivity along the aerial Silk Road between China and Southeast Asia, supporting a trade relationship worth USD 692 billion in the first eight months of 2025, equivalent to 16.7% of China’s total foreign trade.

Under the deal, Teleport and Air Central China will launch an interline agreement, enabling seamless cargo transfers across their networks to reduce transit times and improve efficiency for exporters and importers.

Pete Chareonwongsak, Chief Executive of Teleport, said:
“Being chosen as an interline partner by Air Central China emphasises the trust placed in Teleport’s network and operational expertise. By linking Air Central’s hubs in Xi’an and Hangzhou with our Southeast Asian and Asia-Pacific network, we are giving exporters and importers one-stop access to faster, more efficient trade routes.”

The interline integration will connect Air Central’s services from Xi’an, Hangzhou, Delhi, Hanoi, and Osaka with Teleport’s reach across 290 cities in more than 80 countries, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania.

The collaboration is expected to streamline cargo flows and strengthen economic cooperation along Asia’s critical trade corridors, as airlines and logistics providers race to capture surging demand for cross-border freight services.
