Lufthansa Cargo has announced two key leadership appointments to its Executive Board, effective July 1, 2025. Frank Bauer will become Chief Operating Officer (COO), while Gregor Schleussner has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), and Labor Director.
The reshuffle strengthens Lufthansa Cargo’s leadership under CEO Ashwin Bhat, as the company positions itself for continued global growth and operational excellence.
Frank Bauer appointed as Chief Operating Officer
Frank Bauer, currently CFO and Labor Director at Lufthansa Cargo, will assume the COO role. His responsibilities will include overseeing flight operations, handling, logistics systems, and process optimization.
Bauer began his career at Lufthansa Cargo in 2007 following his engineering studies. He later worked with Jade Cargo in China and held multiple leadership roles within the Lufthansa Group, including Head of Internal Audit and Executive Board Member at Eurowings. Before joining Lufthansa Cargo as CFO in 2023, he was responsible for Group Controlling and Risk Management at Lufthansa.
Dr. Michael Niggemann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG, commented:

Gregor Schleussner named CFO, CHRO, and Labor Director
Gregor Schleussner, currently Head of Finance, Controlling & Accounting at Eurowings, will take on the role of CFO, CHRO, and Labor Director at Lufthansa Cargo. He will be responsible for Human Resources, Finance & Controlling, Legal, Corporate & Political Affairs, Information Management, and Supply Management & Infrastructure.
Schleussner joined Lufthansa in 2006 through the ProTeam management program. His previous roles include Manager Investor Relations, Corporate Controlling Lead for multiple Lufthansa Group entities, and Head of the Lufthansa Group CEO Office. He has led finance at Eurowings since 2021.

The appointments complete the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board, which will now include CEO Ashwin Bhat, COO Frank Bauer, and CFO/CHRO Gregor Schleussner.
