Liege Airport and Chicago Rockford International Airport Sign Sister Airport Agreement to Strengthen Transatlantic Cargo Connectivity

Liege Airport (LGG) in Belgium and Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) in the United States have signed a sister airport agreement during Air Cargo Southeast Asia 2025 in Singapore, establishing a strategic partnership to enhance transatlantic airfreight operations.

This agreement marks a new milestone in international cargo collaboration, creating a framework to increase freighter traffic, launch joint marketing initiatives, and develop shared digital and operational innovations aimed at streamlining cargo processes and boosting efficiency.

“This agreement is a testament to our shared vision for the future of air cargo,” said Torsten Wefers, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Liege Airport. “Together with Chicago Rockford International Airport, we are building a robust transatlantic corridor that will benefit shippers, carriers, and the global supply chain.”
