In response to the earthquake in Venezuela, LATAM Airlines Group has arranged a special passenger flight and two freighter flights as part of its Solidarity Plane program to transport emergency teams and humanitarian aid from Bogotá to Caracas free of charge.

The special flight, which departed on June 27 at 08:00 Colombia time, transported more than 170 passengers free of charge.

The passengers include firefighters, rescue personnel, medical teams, and emergency response specialists from Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru, as well as representatives from Colombian foundations that will support relief efforts for the affected communities.

In addition, LATAM Group has coordinated two special freighter flights between Saturday night and Tuesday, which will transport approximately 100 tons of humanitarian aid from international organisations to Venezuela.

The cargo includes equipment to set up a field hospital, water and sanitation systems, support equipment, power generators, and critical medical supplies, such as hospital beds, triage equipment, and personal protective equipment, to support emergency response efforts.

The initiative was coordinated through the Solidarity Plane program, which makes LATAM Group’s connectivity and logistics capacity available to support organisations and institutions during emergencies and natural disasters in South America.
