LATAM Cargo Group and its affiliates have announced the launch of a new direct cargo route between Brussels and São José dos Campos, further reinforcing their robust network connecting Europe and South America.
The new route will begin with one weekly flight starting October 2 and expand to two weekly frequencies during the winter season.
Until now, shipments bound for São José dos Campos were routed through other Brazilian airports, such as Guarulhos or Viracopos, requiring additional trucking. The direct Brussels connection significantly reduces transit times, costs, and complexity for European exporters.
Matias Cortina, Commercial Cargo Director for Europe at LATAM Airlines Group, stated:
“With this new route, we reinforce our position as the cargo operator with the most robust and flexible network between Europe and South America. São José dos Campos is a key industrial hub, and our value proposition aims to directly meet customer needs by providing more agile and competitive transport solutions.”
Cargo Potential & Strategic Importance
The route is expected to handle around 50 tons of cargo per week, primarily industrial products, auto parts, consumer goods, and general cargo. While most shipments will be destined for São José dos Campos, the route will also serve nearby cities, reinforcing the airport’s role as a regional logistics hub.
This initiative forms part of LATAM Cargo’s wider expansion strategy, which includes an additional 15 weekly frequencies between Europe and South America, further boosting international trade and regional logistics.
Amplified Connectivity to Brazil
The Brussels–São José dos Campos launch complements LATAM Cargo’s Miami–São José dos Campos service, inaugurated in 2023 and expanded to three weekly flights within just one year, offering more than 150 tons of weekly capacity.
With this dual Europe and U.S. connectivity, LATAM Cargo is strengthening São José dos Campos’ position as a critical logistics gateway in Brazil.
