Hacis and Flexport Forge Strategic Partnership to Establish Hong Kong as Key Global Transit Hub

Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) is strengthening its ties with logistics and supply chain technology giant Flexport, elevating their long-standing cooperation into a formal strategic partnership aimed at positioning Hong Kong as Flexport’s primary transit hub in the region.

The collaboration, which began with Hacis providing mail-handling services to Flexport, has steadily expanded over the years. Hacis now supports Flexport with a comprehensive suite of services, including Merge-in-Transit (MiT) solutions and its Airport Direct import and export services.

Today, Hacis offers a fully integrated, one-stop operational platform that enables Flexport to route cargo through Hong Kong with enhanced efficiency, scalability, and control.

Its MiT solution consolidates shipments from multiple origins under forwarder control in Hong Kong before their onward journey, streamlining processes and reducing transit times.

Under its Airport Direct services, Hacis manages cargo collection, delivery, documentation, on-airport storage, containerisation, and fulfilment. The company’s operations are located directly beside the apron at SuperTerminal 1, enabling rapid turnaround and maximised operational efficiency.

“With our fully integrated, one-stop-shop service, we enable Flexport to route cargo via Hong Kong with greater reliability and efficiency,” said Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis. “This partnership shows how Hacis adapts to the evolving needs of customers and supports their growth, while helping Hong Kong maintain its competitive edge in global air logistics.”

Daniel Sanvicente, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Flexport, added: “With its one-stop-shop approach and direct air-side access facility, partnering with Hacis enables Flexport to provide highly efficient, consolidated air services across a broad network. Utilising Hong Kong’s strategic location as a key gateway for South China origin cargo, this collaboration expands our connectivity and service offerings, fueling Flexport’s continued growth in South China and our expanding presence across Southeast Asia and beyond.”

The partnership marks a significant step in strengthening Hong Kong’s position at the centre of global air cargo flows, as both companies look to scale operations in one of the world’s most important logistics hubs.
