Global air cargo groups unite for social good at ‘Impact Week’

Share

Hundreds of employees from air cargo giants ECS Group and Global GSA Group have taken part in a week of global social action as part of the companies’ inaugural ‘Impact Week’, held from 16 to 20 June.

Far from being a symbolic gesture, the initiative brought together staff across continents to participate in a range of community-focused projects — from turtle conservation in Malaysia and beach clean-ups, to food, clothing and toy drives in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey and Canada.

The programme marks a significant shift towards deeper corporate social responsibility within the aviation logistics sector, transforming individual employee efforts into a global collective movement.

From Local Acts to Global Impact

In Malaysia, the focus was on protecting biodiversity, while in Canada, volunteers supported food redistribution schemes for struggling families. Across Europe, staff coordinated food drives for vulnerable groups, and in France, donations of clothing and toys were gathered for those in need.

Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group, praised the energy and initiative shown across the organisation: “What strikes me most is the energy our teams have unleashed, their ability to turn ideas into real-world impact across continents. Impact Week embodies our ambition: to combine professional excellence with social commitment.”

Aytekin Saray, CEO of Global GSA Group, added: “Our people took ownership, created new synergies, and pushed the boundaries of our charity programme. This collective drive is our greatest strength.”

Ongoing Commitment to Change

The campaign will not end with the week itself. Further initiatives are already scheduled for July, including visits to a girls’ foundation in Mexico and support for an orphanage in Vietnam.

Laurence Sauphanor, Chief Sustainable Officer at both ECS Group and Global GSA Group, emphasised the long-term ambition: “What truly makes the difference is the motivation and mobilisation of our teams. Their enthusiasm and commitment are the real engine behind our sustainability journey.”

The results of Impact Week will be showcased internally and across social media in July, celebrating the momentum built and inspiring further action throughout the organisations.

The two air cargo leaders hope the project will serve as a blueprint for how global companies can embed social impact into the core of their corporate culture.
