Georgian cargo carrier Geosky Airlines has expanded its international network with the launch of direct cargo flights between Tbilisi and Chongqing, strengthening its footprint in Asia’s fast-growing air freight market.
The inaugural flight on 13 September connected Tbilisi International Airport with Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, operated on behalf of COSCO Shipping Airfreight under a fixed-charter arrangement. A Boeing 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) was deployed for the service.
Geosky, which specializes in cargo charter and ACMI services, now operates a fleet of six converted freighters: one Boeing 747-200, one Boeing 757, and four Boeing 767-300s, the newest of which was leased from Airborne Capital in July.
Earlier this year, the Tbilisi-based carrier operated flights for CN Logistics between Ezhou Huahu Airport in China and Milan Malpensa in Italy, further underlining its strategy of expanding in Europe and Asia.
In a statement, the airline described the new Chongqing connection as a “significant step” in broadening its reach across Asia’s dynamic air cargo market, complementing its growing network in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
