Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways, is expanding its Southeast Asia network with the launch of a new dedicated freighter service from Techo International Airport (KTI) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in partnership with Teleport, Southeast Asia’s integrated logistics specialist.

Commencing during the Winter 2025 season, the service will operate two weekly flights using Airbus A321F aircraft, adding 50 tonnes of cargo capacity per week to support Cambodia’s key export industries and strengthen its connectivity to global markets.

The agreement to launch the new Phnom Penh deployment was signed today at Air Cargo Southeast Asia 2025, marking another milestone in the growing strategic partnership between Etihad Cargo and Teleport. The two companies currently operate a successful joint freighter deployment from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN).

Operating via Abu Dhabi, the new service will provide seamless main-deck connections to Etihad Cargo’s global network, linking Cambodia to major trade lanes across the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

The launch follows Etihad Airways’ recent introduction of passenger services to Phnom Penh using the airline’s new Airbus A321LR, which has recorded strong cargo performance since inception, consistently achieving high load factors.

The additional freighter capacity will support Cambodia’s expanding garment, electronics, perishables, and pharmaceutical export markets, while improving import capabilities and trade flow efficiency.

Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer, Etihad Airways, said:
“The launch of dedicated freighter deployments from Phnom Penh further strengthens Etihad Cargo’s presence in Southeast Asia and demonstrates our commitment to supporting the region’s dynamic trade flows.
In partnership with Teleport, this new route provides much-needed additional capacity, connecting Cambodia’s exporters to key global markets and enhancing connectivity across our expanding network.”

Jan Philipp Pöter, Chief Business Officer, Teleport, added:
“Our long-standing partnership with Etihad Cargo has evolved significantly—from our interline cooperation in 2022, to deploying freighters between Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur in 2024, and extending services to Phuket in 2025.

Expanding into Phnom Penh highlights the agility and strength of our partnership, allowing us to launch new routes quickly and meet regional market needs.
This collaboration reflects Teleport’s commitment to ensuring our partners never fly empty while driving mutual growth across both networks.”

The new Phnom Penh freighter deployment reinforces Etihad Cargo’s strategic expansion in Asia and supports its dual focus on freighter network growth and bellyhold optimisation. By combining reliable capacity with flexible global connectivity, Etihad Cargo continues to deliver efficient, customer-focused solutions that link Southeast Asia to the world.
