DHL boosts Hanoi cargo capacity amid Vietnam’s tech export surge

Share

DHL Express has expanded payload capacity on its daily freighter services from Hanoi to meet rising export demand from Vietnam’s fast-growing technology manufacturing sector.

The logistics company has introduced a mix of Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 freighters on routes operating throughout the week, adding more than 300 tonnes of extra payload capacity.

Shipments are routed via Hong Kong, linking Vietnamese businesses with partners and customers across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

The move follows a double-digit rise in technology-related exports from Hanoi in the first half of 2025.

It comes less than two years after DHL opened its €11.7m Hanoi Gateway facility, which doubled warehouse capacity to manage higher volumes.

Vietnam has become a major hub for high-tech manufacturing as companies diversify supply chains.

The Ministry of Information and Communications expects the ICT industry to generate $169.3bn in revenue in 2025, up 11.4% year-on-year, with hardware and electronics exports forecast to grow by more than 12%.

According to the DHL Trade Atlas 2025, Vietnam is set to rank among the world’s top 30 countries for the speed and scale of trade growth over the next five years.
