Canadian cargo airline Cargojet has announced the appointment of Pauline Dhillon as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition as the company accelerates its international growth strategy.
Dhillon, a founding partner of Cargojet, brings more than 24 years of senior leadership experience within the organisation. She succeeds in the role after most recently serving as Co-CEO, a promotion that underscores Cargojet’s focus on continuity, operational strength, and long-term value creation as it targets expansion in European and Asian cargo markets.
Throughout her career at Cargojet, Dhillon has held a series of senior executive roles, including Vice President of Corporate Marketing & Government Affairs, Chief Corporate Officer, and Co-CEO. Her leadership portfolio has spanned a wide range of critical business functions, including corporate strategy, regulatory affairs, customer management, charter sales, revenue optimisation, maintenance oversight, finance, human resources, and information technology.
She has also played a central role in building Cargojet’s executive leadership team and strengthening stakeholder engagement across customers, partners, and regulators, helping position the airline as a leading provider of time-critical air cargo services in North America.
Ajay Virmani, Executive Chairman of Cargojet, praised Dhillon’s appointment, citing her deep operational knowledge and customer-focused leadership style.
“Pauline’s strategic vision, deep understanding of our operations, and unwavering commitment to our customers and employees make her the ideal leader to guide Cargojet into its next chapter,” Virmani said. “She has been instrumental in fostering the customer-centric culture that underpins our success.”
Commenting on her appointment, Pauline Dhillon emphasised continuity, culture, and sustainable growth as key priorities in her new role.
“I am honoured to take on the role of CEO and excited about the opportunities ahead,” Dhillon said. “Cargojet has an exceptional team, and together we will continue to deliver outstanding service to our customers while driving sustainable, long-term growth for our shareholders.”
Reflecting on her journey with the company, Dhillon highlighted the importance of Cargojet’s people and values.
“Having been part of Cargojet since its inception, I’ve witnessed our growth, our challenges, and our evolution into the company we are today,” she said. “My focus remains on strengthening what defines us: a culture built on respect and teamwork, an uncompromising commitment to safety, and excellence in service for our customers, partners, and communities.”
Dhillon also acknowledged the leadership and mentorship of Executive Chairman Ajay Virmani and long-time partner Jamie Porteous, noting their role in shaping Cargojet’s success over more than two decades.
The leadership transition comes as Cargojet continues to expand its fleet, network, and international footprint, reinforcing its position as a key player in the global air cargo and logistics sector.
