The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) and CHAMP Cargosystems has announced that BioNatur Plastics has been selected as the winner of the 2026 Air Cargo Sustainability Award in the Start-Up & Small Business category, sponsored by CHAMP Cargosystems.
The winner was determined during TIACA’s Executive Summit 2026, held in Warsaw, Poland, from June 1-3, where three outstanding finalists presented their sustainability initiatives to an audience of more than 320 air cargo industry leaders and professionals. Following the presentations, delegates cast their votes to select the winner.
The three finalists were:
· BioNatur Plastics – Recyclable and Biodegradable Stretch Films
· CargoAi – Cargo2Zero – Lane-Level Carbon Emissions Tracking for Air Freight
· Goods2Load – Data-Driven Decarbonization: Revolutionizing Offline Logistics via Smart Filtering with GOODS2LOAD
Following a highly competitive voting process, attendees selected BioNatur Plastics as the 2026 winner in recognition of its innovative approach to reducing the environmental impact of plastic packaging across global supply chains.
Roos Bakker, TIACA Chair stated: “The Sustainability Awards continue to demonstrate that some of the most impactful ideas often come from organizations willing to challenge conventional thinking.
“BioNatur Plastics has shown how innovation can deliver practical environmental benefits while supporting operational needs across the global supply chain. We congratulate all three finalists for their vision, dedication, and commitment to creating a more sustainable future for air cargo.”
As the category winner, BioNatur Plastics will receive a USD $10,000 cash prize, while fellow finalists CargoAi and Goods2Load will each receive USD $2,500 in recognition of their outstanding contributions to advancing sustainability within the air cargo industry.
BioNatur Plastics was recognized for its Recyclable and Biodegradable Stretch Films, designed to perform across all end-of-use environments, including recycling streams, landfills, and incineration facilities.
The solution enables companies operating in diverse global markets to meet varying customer expectations and sustainability requirements while reducing the environmental footprint associated with traditional plastic stretch films.
In addition to providing sustainable packaging alternatives, BioNatur Plastics works closely with customers to quantify environmental benefits, enabling organizations to communicate measurable sustainability achievements to customers, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Chris Paladino, BioNatur Plastics said: “We are honoured to receive this recognition from TIACA and the air cargo community.
“Sustainability challenges require practical solutions that can be implemented today and work globally, regardless of where cargo ultimately arrives.
“Our goal has always been to help companies reduce their environmental impact without compromising performance or operational efficiency. To have our solution recognized by industry leaders and peers is incredibly rewarding, and we thank everyone who supported us.”
The Air Cargo Sustainability Awards continue to highlight the remarkable innovation taking place throughout the industry and recognize organizations developing practical solutions to reduce environmental impacts while supporting continued growth in global trade.
