Freightos Adds Air Serbia to Cargo Booking Platform

Freightos has announced that Air Serbia will join its cargo booking platform, expanding the digital marketplace’s airline network and further strengthening adoption of Freightos Pay across Europe.

The move is expected to improve digital booking access for freight forwarders while extending guaranteed payment capabilities between forwarders and carriers in the European market.

Freightos Pay Expansion Targets Payment Friction in Europe

According to Freightos, the integration will broaden the reach of Freightos Pay by enabling rapid, guaranteed digital payments between freight forwarders and airlines, including for forwarders that do not hold IATA accreditation.

This addresses a longstanding barrier to wider digital transaction adoption in Europe, where payment and settlement limitations have often restricted access to e-booking tools for smaller or non-accredited forwarders.

Sebastien Podgorski, Vice President Airline Solutions at Freightos, said combining booking with guaranteed payments helps airlines improve cash flow, reduce disputes and widen access to a broader forwarder base.

Wider Booking Access Across Europe and the United States

Once the integration goes live, Air Serbia’s cargo capacity will be available for e-bookings across the United States and throughout its European network, opening all origins on the Freightos platform.

In addition to Belgrade, freight forwarders will gain access to a range of niche regional destinations including:

  • Zagreb
  • Podgorica
  • Tbilisi
  • Tirana
  • Sarajevo
  • Skopje

The addition of Air Serbia is expected to strengthen booking options for forwarders seeking coverage in Southeast Europe and surrounding markets.

Supporting Air Serbia’s Cargo Growth Strategy

Veselin Djordjevic, Head of Cargo at Air Serbia, said digital transformation is central to the airline’s growth strategy and described the Freightos partnership as an important step forward for its cargo business.

He said the guaranteed payment solution addresses a key commercial need by reducing financial uncertainty, streamlining administrative processes and expanding access to freight forwarders across Europe and beyond.

Continued Digitalisation of Air Cargo Distribution

The partnership reflects the broader shift in air cargo toward digital pricing, booking and payment infrastructure, as airlines and freight forwarders look for more efficient and transparent ways to transact.

By adding Air Serbia to its platform, Freightos continues to expand its airline network while supporting greater digital access and financial flexibility in the European air cargo market.
