Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP Cargo) and DHL Global Forwarding have announced a renewed strategic partnership aimed at advancing the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and accelerating the decarbonization of the global air-freight industry.
Building on the success of their initial 2022–2024 agreement, the two organizations have signed a new three-year framework contract covering the period from 2025 to 2027. For 2025 alone, the partnership targets a reduction of 35,000 tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions. This makes the renewed agreement the largest annual SAF partnership AFKLMP Cargo has signed to date, underscoring both its scale and the long-term commitment of both companies to driving the transition toward low-carbon aviation.
Additional SAF volumes and corresponding emissions reductions for 2026 and 2027 will be defined as the partnership progresses.
Since 2020, AFKLMP Cargo has been a pioneer in customer-focused SAF programs, while DHL has positioned SAF as a core element of its GoGreen Plus service to support its climate objectives. Together, the companies bring industry-leading expertise, a shared vision, and a proven framework for accelerating the adoption of low-carbon fuels across air freight.
The renewed agreement builds on the achievements of the previous three-year partnership, during which DHL reduced 77,595 tonnes of COâ‚‚-equivalent emissions between 2022 and 2024. The collaboration also enabled customers to make measurable progress toward their science-based carbon-reduction targets.
By extending their partnership, AFKLMP Cargo and DHL reaffirm the importance of long-term collaboration in supporting the aviation industry’s transition to more sustainable, low-carbon solutions.
