Air Canada announced a major expansion of its operations at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), introducing new transborder routes to four key U.S. business hubs and increasing daily flights to Montréal and Ottawa.
The expansion marks Air Canada’s most significant growth at Billy Bishop in 35 years, underscoring the airline’s long-term commitment to strengthening regional and international connectivity for travellers and businesses alike.
New Routes to Key U.S. Business Markets
Beginning in 2026, Air Canada will launch new direct services from Toronto Island Airport to New York, Boston, Washington, and Chicago, providing convenient and frequent access to major financial and commercial centres across North America.
The new routes will complement Air Canada’s existing extensive domestic network, allowing passengers to connect seamlessly between Canada’s financial capital and the U.S. eastern business corridor.
Enhanced Connectivity on Canada’s Busiest Business Corridors
In addition to the new U.S. services, Air Canada will increase the frequency of its daily return flights between Toronto, Montréal, and Ottawa, enhancing flexibility for business and leisure travellers on the country’s most heavily travelled domestic routes.
This latest investment reflects Air Canada’s continued focus on customer convenience, service quality, and sustainable growth at Toronto’s downtown airport.
Strengthening Air Canada’s Legacy at Toronto Island
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has long been a strategic gateway for business and short-haul travel in Canada. With this expansion, Air Canada reinforces its commitment to delivering convenient, customer-focused, and sustainable air travel from one of the most accessible urban airports in North America.
Further details on launch dates, schedules, and aircraft types will be announced in the coming months.
