AerCap Holdings N.V. has delivered the world’s first two Boeing 777-300ERSF Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) converted aircraft to Kalitta Air, marking a major milestone in next-generation widebody cargo operations.
The aircraft, including the prototype certification unit, arrived at Kalitta’s Oscoda, Michigan facility on 12 and 13 September. Both aircraft are part of a seven-aircraft order placed by Kalitta Air, which is modernizing its freighter fleet by transitioning from its aging Boeing 747s.
Kalitta Air has been the launch operator of the AerCap Cargo 777-300ERSF program since 2020. The conversion has undergone rigorous certification and testing with the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), confirming the aircraft’s ability to operate at a 100-tonne payload capacity.
The airline plans to place the first two aircraft into revenue service in early October, with further deliveries scheduled in the coming weeks.
