Menzies Aviation has been awarded a seven-year freighter handling licence at Brussels Airport (BRU), marking a significant expansion of its global cargo operations and bringing Belgium into its network of more than 350 airports across 65 countries.
Brussels Airport is a major European hub for pharmaceuticals, perishables and high-value freight, making it a strategically important gateway for dedicated freighter operations. Under the new licence, Menzies will deliver aircraft turnaround management and airside services, with a focus on safety, reliability and operational efficiency for cargo airlines operating at the airport.
Menzies has already commenced operations at BRU for LATAM Cargo, supporting 15 weekly freighter turns across three daily flights, five days a week. The services connect Belgium with LATAM’s expanding Europe–Latin America cargo network, reflecting growing demand for high-quality handling solutions on these trade lanes.
The new contract reinforces Menzies Aviation’s continued investment in freighter handling capabilities and its strategy to grow at key international cargo hubs.
Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson, Executive Vice President Europe at Menzies Aviation, said: “The award of this licence highlights the strength of our freighter handling expertise. Launching operations with LATAM’s expanding freighter schedule at BRU sets a strong foundation for the years ahead. Our teams are focused on delivering safe, efficient and high-quality service as we scale up at this critical cargo hub.”
