The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has announced the successful conclusion of its Executive Summit 2025, held from June 24–26 in Hong Kong. Hosted by Cathay Cargo, the summit welcomed more than 280 senior executives and decision-makers from across the global air cargo industry for three days of strategic discussions, collaborative engagement, and forward-looking insights.
The event kicked off with an exclusive tour of the Cathay Cargo Terminal and a Welcome Reception hosted by HACTL, creating early opportunities for relationship-building among attendees. A dynamic conference program followed, featuring keynote speeches and expert panels covering some of the most pressing topics facing the industry today—including artificial intelligence integration, sustainability, digital transformation, regulatory harmonization, airport infrastructure, e-commerce growth, and navigating global geopolitical uncertainty.
Mable Chan, JP, Secretary for Transport and Logistics for the Hong Kong SAR Government, opened the summit with remarks highlighting the critical role of logistics in the region’s economic development. The summit reflected TIACA’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue among stakeholders, connecting established leaders, innovators, and rising talent within a collaborative and future-focused environment.
Throughout the event, a series of social networking opportunities—curated by Cathay Cargo—encouraged informal collaboration and exchange. Delegates praised the unique platform TIACA created for candid conversation and actionable outcomes, reinforcing the summit’s reputation as a high-value gathering for industry alignment.
“This year’s Executive Summit has been a powerful catalyst for both ideas and partnerships,” said Steven Polmans, Chair of TIACA. “Hosting the event in Hong Kong—one of the world’s most vital air cargo hubs—allowed us to bring diverse global voices together in a setting that truly reflects the energy and ambition of our industry.”
A key milestone of the event was the presentation of the 2025 TIACA Awards, which recognized excellence and innovation across four categories: Hall of Fame, Inspirational Leader, Rising Star, and Sustainability. The awards celebrated individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to the evolution of air cargo.
Additionally, TIACA unveiled its long-anticipated e-Commerce White Paper, developed by a cross-industry task force focused on addressing the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly growing sector. The final version will be published in the coming weeks and is expected to provide valuable guidance for stakeholders across the air cargo value chain.
“The conversations and connections made during the summit reflect the agility and resilience that define our sector,” said Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA. “From embracing digital innovation to driving sustainability strategies, the energy in the room was palpable. We’re grateful to Cathay Cargo, HACTL, HKIA, and all our partners who helped make this event a success.”
Insights gathered during the Executive Summit—along with data from TIACA’s annual industry survey—will directly shape the association’s advocacy efforts and workplan over the next year.
TIACA’s next major global event, the Air Cargo Forum 2025, will take place in Abu Dhabi from November 3–6, 2025, featuring a full exhibition, conference sessions, and extensive networking opportunities. Exhibit space is now available, and interested organizations are encouraged to reach out to the TIACA Secretariat for more information.
