Aeromexico Cargo has expanded its European network for the summer season, launching a new Paris–Monterrey route and resuming Barcelona–Mexico City flights after a five-year hiatus. ECS Group subsidiaries, Aero Cargo France and GenAir Spain, are actively supporting the rollout, helping to market and fill an additional 100 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity from Europe.
Alejandro Mendez, Senior Vice President of Aeromexico Cargo, said the airline’s latest expansion marks its largest ever in Europe, with customers already benefiting from improved connectivity across both continents.
“We have listened closely to customer needs, tracked market trends, and collaborated with GenAir Spain and Aero Cargo France to deliver a cargo offering that enhances efficiency both in the air and on the ground,” he said.
He highlighted the Barcelona–Mexico City route as a key improvement, eliminating the need to truck cargo via Madrid and delivering gains in both speed and sustainability.
Aeromexico Cargo currently operates year-round daily flights (AM006) between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Mexico City, and has now introduced a direct Paris–Monterrey service. Flight AM045 operates three times weekly—on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—continuing onward to Mexico City. This brings the airline’s total to 10 weekly flights from France during the summer schedule through to October 2026, adding between 35 and 45 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity. All services are operated using Boeing 787 aircraft, each offering up to 16 tonnes of cargo capacity.
The airline has also reinstated its Barcelona El Prat–Mexico City route, which had been suspended since 2019. The service, relaunched in March 2026, operates six times weekly (excluding Wednesdays) and provides up to 60 tonnes of cargo capacity per week.
Jean Ceccaldi, Chief Executive Officer of ECS Group, noted the long-standing partnerships underpinning the expansion, with GenAir Spain marking 35 years of collaboration with Aeromexico and Aero Cargo France exceeding 30 years.
He added that strong relationships with European freight forwarders, alongside new customer agreements, are already delivering solid load factors. Shipments from France include pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace, and luxury goods, while exports from Spain feature textiles, machinery, e-commerce, automotive parts, and pharmaceuticals.
