Avianca Cargo, part of the Abra Group, has partnered with DSV to fly 58 tons of humanitarian relief supplies to Venezuela, supporting communities recovering from recent earthquakes.
The relief flight, operated with an A330 freighter, flew from Miami to Caracas loaded with medical supplies, food, hydration kits, hygiene products, and other essential items aimed at meeting the most pressing needs of affected residents.
The mission was coordinated closely with several humanitarian organizations — Direct Relief, Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), Heart to Heart International, and World Central Kitchen — which played a key role in pinpointing urgent needs, organizing donations, and making sure supplies reached the people who needed them most.
Juan Correa, Chief Commercial Officer at Avianca Cargo, said the mission, carried out in partnership with DSV, underscores the companies’ commitment to stepping up when communities face major hardship. He added that delivering international aid efficiently depends on close coordination with local authorities and relief partners on the ground.
Stephanie Penarete, Vice President of DSV Air Product Americas, echoed that sentiment, saying the greatest impact happens when organizations work together with shared purpose. She noted that pairing DSV’s logistics expertise with Avianca Cargo’s network and operational strength allowed the two companies to get critical supplies where they were needed, turning logistics capability into real, lasting impact for the communities served.
Avianca says the flight reflects its broader commitment to humanitarian response, and that it will continue making its logistics network and infrastructure available to support communities facing emergencies going forward.
