Delta Cargo Launches New Flexible Date Search Tool for Easier Online Bookings

Share

Delta Cargo has rolled out a new flexible date search feature on its online booking platform, enabling customers to compare cargo availability across a five-day window in a single search.

The update positions the airline among the first US passenger carriers to offer a five-day flexible search via a direct cargo booking channel. It gives freight forwarders and shippers greater flexibility when planning shipments and selecting departure options.

Developed in response to customer feedback, the new functionality is designed to speed up the booking process and improve efficiency.

Five-day search improves planning flexibility

The tool allows users to view flight availability over five days without running multiple searches for different dates. This makes it easier to compare options, identify available capacity, and adjust shipment plans accordingly.

Search results also include customer-specific rates and allotment indicators where applicable, adding greater transparency to the booking process. Delta Cargo says the feature reduces the time required to secure space while simplifying shipment planning.

Continued investment in digital booking

The flexible date search is part of Delta Cargo’s broader digital investment through its online platform. Powered by Revenue Technology Services (RTS) via its Velocity and Accelerate solutions, the portal enables customers to:

  • Search schedules, capacity, and pricing in real time
  • View applicable rates and allotment availability
  • Book shipments online
  • Schedule future bookings for automatic creation
  • Manage shipments through a single interface

These enhancements aim to deliver a more seamless and efficient customer experience.

Enhanced tracking capabilities

Delta Cargo has also strengthened its tracking tools, allowing customers to monitor shipments end-to-end using an air waybill number. Real-time updates are available from acceptance through to final delivery.

Piece-level tracking is offered via the Pulse service for DASH Critical and DASH shipments at selected locations, while improved customs visibility enables monitoring of both MAWB and HAWB status updates.

Multiple booking channels supported

In addition to direct bookings, customers can continue to access Delta Cargo services through third-party platforms such as cargo.one, CargoWise, and Freightos.

The airline says these latest updates reflect its ongoing focus on improving the digital customer journey, making it easier to search, book, track, and manage air cargo shipments across both its own platform and partner channels.
