Kenya Airways has been appointed as the ground handling partner for FedEx, marking the first time the US-based carrier has selected the airline for such services.

The agreement represents a significant step forward for Kenya Airways’ cargo and airport services division, as global airlines continue to expand strategic partnerships across African markets. The airline said the deal highlights increasing trust from international carriers in its operational performance and service quality.

Kenya Airways noted that the partnership further strengthens its position as a key ground handling provider, supporting cargo flows and enhancing connectivity between Africa and the rest of the world.

In a LinkedIn statement, the airline said: “We are proud to welcome FedEx as the first American airline to choose us as its ground handling partner.”

The collaboration comes amid a broader trend of air cargo operators and logistics providers reinforcing networks that connect Africa with global supply chains. Industry players are placing greater emphasis on partnerships that enhance handling efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve cargo connectivity as demand for both regional and international freight continues to grow.
