Building on a decade of innovation—including two global IATA awards and the deployment of the world’s largest fleet of digitally enabled ULDs—Unilode and OnAsset are pleased to announce the renewal of their strategic partnership.
This exclusive collaboration has already transformed IoT-enabled aviation logistics, continuously pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Recent advancements include enhanced in-flight tracking capabilities, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to digital excellence.
With an extensive and growing network of over 172,000 digitally enabled ULDs, Unilode has revolutionized the supply chain through OnAsset’s Sentinel tracking devices and a global network of Sentry gateways at airports worldwide. This partnership enables real-time visibility and sensor data capture throughout all phases of ULD handling, including a ULD reader network, maintenance and repair, warehousing, ground operations, and in-flight tracking.
Built on global standards to ensure seamless interoperability, this digital backbone will continue to evolve. Unilode and OnAsset plan to expand their suite of digital enablement solutions, covering galley carts, cargo and cold chain shipments, ground support equipment, digital warehousing, industry status messaging, and digital transaction automation.
Ross Marino, CEO of Unilode, stated, “We are thrilled to extend our exclusive partnership with OnAsset Intelligence. Together, we will continue to drive digital innovation and transform ULD management. The introduction of our new tag and reader hardware marks an exciting milestone, bringing improved tag longevity and performance. This partnership strengthens our digital infrastructure and enhances our capabilities for our expanding customer base.”
He continued, “By gaining deeper insights into ULD journeys and customer needs, we are developing technology that enhances track-and-trace capabilities, reducing lost and unreported ULDs. Our advanced systems will also explore sensory data opportunities and integrate seamlessly with industry and customer platforms. I look forward to working closely with Adam and the OnAsset team as we push the boundaries of digital ULD management.”
Bas Vermeer, CIO of Unilode, added, “We are excited to continue our partnership with OnAsset as we further enhance our tag and reader network—critical components of our value proposition. Combined with our e-ULD mobile app, OnAsset’s advanced technology optimizes ULD handling, significantly reducing turnaround times. Our customer portal, powered by OnAsset’s real-time tracking, enhances Cost-of-Non-Quality in ULD management. By integrating these solutions, we will drive efficiency, maximize ULD utilization, and create direct value in the logistics chain. Additionally, our in-house development team in India ensures rapid integration of advanced features tailored to customer needs.”
Adam Crossno, CEO of OnAsset, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are proud to continue our journey with Unilode in digital evolution. Their innovative mindset is evident in every aspect of their business, and our joint roadmap is the most ambitious I’ve seen in my 20-plus years in this industry. Unilode and their customers demand the best, and we are excited to help realize a shared vision—delivering the world’s most comprehensive digital service enablement network to the aviation industry. I look forward to collaborating with Ross and his team to showcase the art of the possible.”
