A new partnership between Trackonomy, a leader in scalable tracking technologies, and Jettainer, the global provider of Unit Load Device (ULD) management services, is setting a new benchmark for visibility and efficiency in aviation logistics.
Traditional ULD tracking systems have long relied on fixed reader infrastructure at airports, often creating blind spots that limit end-to-end visibility across the supply chain. Trackonomy is addressing this challenge through a hybrid tracking approach that combines LoRa and BLE readers installed at major and mid-sized hubs with cellular-enabled mobile readers that use meshing technology to form a dynamic, self-expanding network.
The new system provides continuous, real-time visibility of ULDs, allowing Jettainer to determine precisely where and how long each unit remains at a location. This capability reduces search times, accelerates the recovery of misplaced equipment, and provides valuable process insights that can help further optimize ULD fleet management.
