PrimeFlight Aviation Services is understood to be undergoing a leadership transition following the departure of President and CEO Craig Smyth, who has stepped down from his role after drawing on more than three decades of aviation services experience to help guide the business through a period of ongoing growth.
During his time with the company, Smyth built on PrimeFlight’s existing platform and brought additional international handling and ground services expertise to its senior leadership, supporting its focus on safety, service quality and reliable support for airline and airport customers.
Smyth had originally been appointed to succeed long‑standing President and CEO Dan Bucaro, who moved into the role of Chairman as part of a planned transition designed to provide continuity for customers, employees and investors.
Under this structure, PrimeFlight has continued to benefit from Bucaro’s long‑term strategic perspective at board level while drawing on the wider leadership team to support day‑to‑day operations.
PrimeFlight has not issued a new public statement naming Smyth’s successor, and no additional details have been formally communicated about the next permanent President and CEO.
At the time of this release, PrimeFlight had not responded to requests for comment.
In the meantime, the company’s established senior leadership and board, including Bucaro as Chairman, are expected to provide continuity as PrimeFlight pursues its long‑term growth and development plans in the aviation services market.
