Hong Kong Air Cargo’s inaugural flight to Prestwick Airport (PIK) will be an Airbus A330-200F departing from Hong Kong, with additional flights scheduled for February 18 and 25, 2025.
“The arrival of these flights highlights our progress in establishing Prestwick as a leading e-commerce hub,” said Nico Le Roux, Business Development Director at PIK.
Over the past year, PIK has invested in cargo handling improvements, new equipment, and a dedicated representative in Greater China. These enhancements support growth alongside recent partnerships with Royal Mail Group and Chicago Rockford Airport.
The first flights will transport shipments from major e-commerce platforms, including SHEIN, Temu, and TikTok.
“PIK is our first new destination for 2025, offering fast turnaround times and an experienced cargo team,” said Tony Ma, Chairman of Hong Kong Air Cargo. “Its location provides seamless access to road, rail, and sea connections, and we aim to fill return flights with key UK exports.”
Each flight will carry up to 60 tonnes of cargo, processed at PIK before last-mile delivery by Royal Mail Group and EVRI.
PIK’s Business Development team is now working to maximize return flight capacity, targeting high-demand Scottish exports like salmon and whisky.
“This route presents a major opportunity for Scottish exporters, providing a direct link to Hong Kong and mainland China,” Le Roux added.
The airport is partnering with Scottish export associations to increase shipments via PIK, reducing reliance on London Heathrow for freight transport.
