Emirates SkyCargo has launched a new training program designed to address workforce shortages by helping employees advance their careers.

The program involves 32 staff members participating in a 15-day course that includes six sessions. These sessions focus on proactive preparation and strategic optimization of current and future operations, including the innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI), embedding innovation at every touchpoint, and implementing tangible sustainability approaches.

Upon completion, participants will receive a diploma endorsed by AviationNOW, a member of TIACA.

The 32 employees, chosen from Emirates SkyCargo’s high-performing cargo managers, are divided into two groups of 16. The participants include both Emirati Nationals and other nationalities from the airline’s outstations.

The airline stated that the program aims to “equip the cargo leaders of tomorrow with the commercial and leadership skillset for future success” as the logistics industry faces a shortage of skilled workers.

Nadeem Sultan, Senior Vice President of Cargo Planning and Freighters at Emirates SkyCargo, said, “Implementing this Executive Leadership Programme is a crucial step on our long-term strategic roadmap, ensuring we foster the outstanding talent within our commercial operations to take Emirates SkyCargo to greater heights in the future.

“Creating an environment of development and providing continuous opportunities for learning contributes to the long tenure of Emirates SkyCargo staff, and helps us attract the best talent in the industry, despite the challenging environment.”

The training, hosted at Emirates headquarters in Dubai, combines theoretical and practical sessions, providing participants with tools they can apply immediately in their current roles and in the next stages of their careers.

Following this initial schedule, Emirates SkyCargo plans to expand the training program to other areas of the business, including operations.
