DB Schenker Opens New Facility at Trafford Park, Enhancing Local Economy and Sustainability

DB Schenker has inaugurated its new, purpose-built facility at Trafford Park, marking a significant investment in the Greater Manchester area. The £11 million freehold building spans 2.3 acres and includes 47,500 square feet of warehousing and 7,500 square feet of office space. This modern hub, designed for efficiency and sustainability, is TAPA A, AEO, and customs approved, reflecting DB Schenker’s strategic expansion in the UK & Ireland.

Aaron Scott, CEO of the UK & Ireland cluster, emphasized the long-term commitment to the region, stating, “This investment reflects our long-term commitment to the region and will support a broad range of industry verticals, highlighting our dedication to providing comprehensive solutions for our customers. Our team in the north have worked tirelessly to bring this multi-modal hub of innovation and efficiency to fruition.”

The opening ceremony was attended by Councillor Tom Ross, leader of Trafford Council, who expressed his enthusiasm, “I would like to welcome DB Schenker to Trafford. This is a momentous occasion that will attract millions of pounds of investment into the borough and is a testament to the company’s commitment to the Greater Manchester area.”

Located at Trafford Park, home to numerous renowned businesses, the facility enhances DB Schenker’s operational capabilities and reinforces its market position. Scott highlighted the economic benefits for the local community, noting the creation of job opportunities and the fostering of regional growth.

“This new facility will not only enhance our operational capabilities but also reinforce our position as a key player in the market. We look forward to the continued success and growth this investment will bring, benefitting both DB Schenker and the wider community,” Scott added. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to investing in young talent and nurturing long-term careers.

The facility is equipped with solar panels, significantly reducing its carbon footprint and reliance on non-renewable energy sources, underscoring DB Schenker’s dedication to sustainable development.
