German logistics group Dachser has appointed Kristian Jönsson as managing director of its Nordic operations, as the company moves to strengthen integration across the region.
Mr Jönsson took up the role on 1 February and now oversees Dachser’s European Logistics, Food Logistics, and Air & Sea Logistics divisions across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
He previously led Frigoscandia, the food logistics business acquired by Dachser at the beginning of 2024, having managed the subsidiary since August 2024.
Focus on integrated growth in the Nordic market
In his new position, Mr Jönsson assumes responsibility for coordinating Dachser’s road, food and air and sea freight activities across the Nordic countries, as the company seeks to streamline its regional structure.
“I am looking forward to expanding my area of responsibility at Dachser and driving the company’s growth in the Nordic countries in a holistic manner,” he said.
Mr Jönsson brings more than 20 years’ international management experience to the role, having previously held senior positions at Coresec Systems and Elfa International.
Alexander Tonn, chief operating officer for road logistics at Dachser, said the appointment marked another step towards standardising management structures in the region.
“By closely linking Dachser’s business lines at all levels, we can leverage synergies in production and offer our customers high-quality transport and logistics services from a single source,” he said.
Frigoscandia integration underway
Since its acquisition in early 2024, Frigoscandia has been gradually integrated into Dachser’s European Food Logistics network, with systems and processes aligned across the group.
The move forms part of Dachser’s wider strategy to strengthen its position in temperature-controlled logistics and expand its footprint in Northern Europe.
The company said deeper integration across its divisions would help improve efficiency, service consistency and cross-border connectivity for customers operating in the Nordic market.
