CEVA Logistics Launches New Transpacific Air Charter Service

CEVA Logistics has introduced a new transpacific air charter service to meet growing demand for cargo shipments between China and the US. The service operates three times per week between Wuxi, China, and Chicago, US, using a Boeing 747 freighter.

The first flight departed Wuxi on March 28, carrying approximately 100 tons of cargo. The service is designed to handle a variety of goods, including industrial equipment, electronics, oversized cargo, e-commerce items, and apparel.

CEVA highlighted Wuxi airport’s strategic location within the Yangtze River Delta Economic Development Zone. The airport serves both global companies operating in the Shanghai area and local Chinese firms in the industrial, technology, and e-commerce sectors. CEVA also noted that cargo from Southeast Asia can be transported to Wuxi for onward shipment to the US.

Upon arrival in Chicago, cargo is distributed across the US via CEVA’s gateway facility, located less than 10 miles from the airport. The facility spans 700,000 sq ft and includes specialized infrastructure such as an 8,000 sq ft Free Trade Zone, a 10,000 sq ft cold storage facility with two temperature-controlled chambers, a 180,000 sq ft Container Freight Station, and a 180,000 sq ft Certified Cargo Screening Facility equipped with x-ray and K-9 inspection capabilities.

CEVA also offers trucking connections from Chicago to key hubs in Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Columbus, and 70 other distribution points nationwide.

The company said the charter programme provides fast customs clearance, efficient airport handling, and tailored solutions for cross-border volumes.

Loic Gay, global air product leader at CEVA Logistics, commented: “CEVA Logistics continues to invest in our global airfreight network and our owned, controlled capacity. This new trans-Pac charter service underscores CEVA’s commitment to securing the right capacity on the right lanes for current and future customers in order to meet their evolving needs.”

This new initiative further solidifies CEVA’s position in the competitive airfreight market while addressing the growing demand for reliable and efficient transpacific logistics solutions.
