Atlas Air announced that Michael Steen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Atlas Air Worldwide, has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the global trade association representing more than 330 airlines across 120 countries.
With over 30 years of experience in aviation and logistics, Mr. Steen’s appointment underscores his leadership at Atlas, where he has driven the Company’s focus on safety, strategic expansion and operational excellence. As a member of the IATA Board of Governors, Mr. Steen will help shape industry standards, influence aviation policy, and advance initiatives supporting global connectivity and a safe, secure, and sustainable aviation sector.

As CEO of Atlas, Mr. Steen leads the world’s largest provider of outsourced aviation logistics services, including the largest fleet of wide-body freighters serving customers in more than 300 destinations in 70 countries globally.

In addition to his new role on the IATA Board of Governors, Mr. Steen serves on the Board of Directors at CHC Helicopters and has served as Chairman of IATA’s Cargo Advisory Council.
