Dachser Names New Global Head of Air Freight
Dachser has appointed David Wystrach as its new Global Head of Air Freight, marking a strategic move to strengthen its air cargo operations and optimise its global logistics network.
The appointment signals the company’s intent to enhance performance across key trade lanes while further integrating air freight into its end-to-end supply chain solutions.

- Enhancing operational performance across international routes
A key priority will be improving integration between air freight and broader logistics services, as customers increasingly demand greater visibility, efficiency, and reliability.
Leadership Transition Completed
Wystrach succeeds Timo Stroh, who led Dachser’s global air freight division for nearly a decade before stepping down in February last year.
The position had been held on an interim basis, making this appointment a significant step in restoring long-term leadership stability within the division.
Extensive Industry Experience
Wystrach brings a strong background in global air cargo operations, including:
- Previous role as Global Head of Airfreight at Scan Global Logistics
- Senior Director of Air Freight EMEA at Flexport
- Over a decade at Panalpina specialising in procurement and capacity sourcing
His experience spans procurement, trade lane management, and operational leadership, with a focus on airline relationships and traffic flow optimisation.
Focus on Resilience in a Volatile Market
The appointment comes at a time when the air cargo sector continues to face:
- Capacity constraints
- Volatile freight rates
- Shifting global trade patterns
Dachser said strengthening its leadership in air freight will help build a more resilient and responsive global network, better equipped to meet evolving customer needs.
Strengthening Integrated Logistics Solutions
By enhancing its air freight capabilities, Dachser aims to deliver:
- More efficient end-to-end supply chain solutions
- Improved service reliability
- Greater flexibility across global logistics networks
The move reinforces the company’s broader strategy to align its air freight operations with changing market dynamics and long-term growth opportunities.
