TIACA unveils new platforms to support industry knowledge and research

Share

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has announced plans to launch two new digital initiatives aimed at strengthening knowledge sharing and supporting emerging talent across the global air cargo sector.

The programmes — the TIACA Reading Room and the Future Thinkers platform — are expected to go live in the second quarter of the year on the organisation’s website.

Both initiatives are designed to provide accessible resources for professionals, researchers and students working in aviation, logistics and supply chain industries.

Digital hub for industry publications

The TIACA Reading Room will serve as an online library highlighting books and publications written by industry experts, academics and researchers.

The platform will feature a curated collection of titles exploring topics such as air cargo operations, aviation, sustainability, digital transformation and logistics development. Each publication will include author information, summaries and links for readers who wish to access or purchase the material.

Industry authors will be invited to submit their work for inclusion, with the aim of creating a growing repository of expertise and thought leadership within the air freight sector.

Spotlight on new research

Alongside the Reading Room, TIACA is launching the Future Thinkers platform to showcase research from graduate and postgraduate students working on topics relevant to air cargo and aviation.

The initiative will feature profiles of researchers, summaries of their theses and links to their work, giving industry professionals access to new ideas and emerging trends. The platform will also allow companies and organisations to connect with authors for potential collaboration.

Students and recent graduates will be encouraged to submit their research, helping strengthen links between academia and the air cargo industry.

Building the next generation of leaders

According to TIACA, the two initiatives aim to support both established industry voices and the next generation of professionals.

TIACA chair Roos Bakker said the programmes reflect the organisation’s goal of bringing the industry together to share knowledge and develop future leadership.

Director general Glyn Hughes added that the platforms would help ensure ideas and innovation continue to flow across generations and regions within the global air cargo community.

Both initiatives are expected to expand over time as more authors and researchers contribute their work.
