B&H Worldwide Delivers A330 Cockpit for Advanced Flight Training Project

Share

B&H Worldwide has successfully completed a complex international logistics operation, transporting a decommissioned Airbus A330 cockpit from the United Kingdom to New Zealand for conversion into a flight training device.

The project was carried out in partnership with Christchurch-based Pacific Simulators (PacSim), a global specialist in fully tactile, fixed-based flight training devices (FTDs). Once installed, the cockpit will be repurposed to support advanced A330 pilot training.

End-to-End Aerospace Logistics Solution

The shipment required a fully customised logistics strategy designed to meet the specific handling requirements of the high-value and sensitive aerospace component.

B&H Worldwide managed the entire operation, from collection and secure packing through to international transport and final delivery. Sea freight was selected as the most secure and reliable solution for the long-distance move.

The operation began in West Sussex, where the cockpit was collected by B&H’s UK transport team. It was then professionally packed into a 20-foot container at the company’s secure Heathrow facility before being shipped to New Zealand.

Cross-Regional Coordination Ensures Safe Delivery

Teams in the UK and New Zealand worked closely together to ensure precise handling, visibility and secure transit throughout the journey.

Lee Hedges, Branch Manager at B&H Worldwide New Zealand, said the project demonstrated the company’s ability to manage specialised aerospace logistics beyond its well-known time-critical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services.

He noted that the successful delivery highlighted the organisation’s flexibility in handling complex and oversized shipments while providing customers with full transparency and confidence across the supply chain.

Supporting the Global Flight Training Sector

The completed delivery will enable Pacific Simulators to transform the cockpit into a fully functional A330 training device, supporting airline training programmes and pilot development.

The project underscores the growing demand for specialist logistics expertise in the aerospace training sector, where precision handling and international coordination are essential for the safe movement of high-value aviation assets.
