Menzies Aviation Names John Frame to Lead Legal and Sustainability Functions
Menzies Aviation has announced the appointment of John Frame as its new Chief Legal & Sustainability Officer, effective 1 September 2026. He will succeed John Geddes, who will retire at the end of November after more than 30 years with the business.
In his new role, Frame will oversee the company’s global legal, governance, compliance and sustainability operations, supporting Menzies’ continued international growth and strategic development.
Leadership Transition After Three Decades of Service
John Geddes has been a central figure in the transformation of Menzies since joining in 1997. Most recently serving as Chief Governance & Sustainability Officer and Company Secretary, he played a key role in strengthening the organisation’s governance and ESG frameworks.
During his tenure, the company expanded significantly—from operating a single cargo facility at London Heathrow to becoming a global aviation services provider present at more than 350 airports across 65 countries.
Geddes will remain in his current position until his retirement in November and will continue to support the business as a Non-executive Director from December, ensuring leadership continuity.
Executive Chairman Hassan El-Houry said Geddes had been instrumental in shaping the company’s governance, compliance and sustainability foundations, adding that the business was pleased he would remain connected in an advisory capacity.
Strong Internal Successor to Drive Next Phase
Frame joined Menzies in 2021 as Group Legal Counsel and was promoted to Group Head of Legal in 2023. Since then, he has led major legal initiatives, strengthened governance structures and supported key strategic transactions that underpin the company’s global expansion.
Group CEO Philipp Joeinig said Frame’s experience and leadership would help strengthen the organisation’s governance and sustainability capabilities as the company continues to execute its global strategy.
Governance Structure Further Strengthened
As part of the leadership changes, Owen Harkins has been promoted to Group Company Secretary, also effective 1 September.
Harkins, who joined Menzies in 2016, has played a significant role in developing the company’s governance and compliance frameworks and has supported major mergers and acquisitions. His deep operational knowledge and technical expertise are expected to support the business as it continues to grow.
Focus on Governance, Sustainability and Growth
The leadership changes underline Menzies Aviation’s continued focus on strong governance, regulatory compliance and sustainability as core pillars of its long-term strategy.
With experienced internal leaders stepping into key roles, the company aims to maintain continuity while strengthening the foundations needed to support its expanding global operations.
