Airbridge International Agencies (AIA) has appointed Sarah Macfarlane as its new Chief Executive Officer, while Jake Holliday has been named to lead its sister company, Animal Aircare, as part of a senior leadership transition.

Ms Macfarlane returned to AIA Cargo in 2025 as Vice President of Cargo Sales and Services, where she oversaw several of the company’s key international markets. She previously spent more than a decade at Airbridge International Agencies as UK Sales Manager, before joining APG Cargo in 2024 as Commercial Director.

With 28 years of experience in the air cargo, airline and GSSA sectors, Ms Macfarlane brings extensive leadership and commercial expertise to the CEO role. Her career also includes senior positions with major airlines including KLM and All Nippon Airways (ANA).

Jake Holliday, who will now lead Animal Aircare, joined the specialist live-animal logistics company in 2021 during the launch of its Heathrow Airport operations. He has since supported the company’s expansion to London Luton Airport and London Stansted Airport, and was promoted to UK Manager in 2024.

The appointments follow the departure of Giuseppe Tarantini, who was named Chief Executive of both AIA Cargo and Animal Aircare in July last year. In a post on LinkedIn, Mr Tarantini said he would be stepping down after a “short but intense and eventful” period in charge.

He congratulated both new leaders on their appointments and said he was confident they would bring renewed energy, fresh ideas and continued growth to the businesses. Mr Tarantini also thanked staff across Airbridge International Agencies and Animal Aircare for their professionalism and continued support.
